Last week was a great one at Boulder Swing Dance. Thanks to all of our wonderful students who helped make this month awesome! Just a reminder that there is NO class at Kakes on Monday because of Memorial Day, but we will have Balboa at the Integral Center on Tuesday, May 31st.
Our Flatiron Stompers performance group is gearing up for their 1940s Ball performance happening on June 18th. Make sure to buy a ticket and cheer them on! We're super proud of their progress and hard work.
Level 1.5 learned the Shim Sham, which is a famous swing line dance known all over the world. Here's a video of the Shim Sham steps.
In Level 1 we learned the swing out combination and reviewed combinations from previous weeks which included our low down combination and our closed circle combination. Here is our send out with low downs video recap.

Level 2 finished up their series on 6 count moves and learned sugar pushes! We specifically focused on compression, incorporating kicks and a jump. Here is the recap video.
Our Tuesday Balboa nights at the Integral Center have been super fun and we're looking forward to our next night of classes on May 31st.
Level 1.5 worked on swivels, including styling for followers, ways to get in and out of swivels, and adding in promenades.
Level 1 continued working on transitioning from balboa into lindy hop and back into balboa. We also learned some fun new moves including fall on the logs and paddles.
We also hosted our Swing Lab Practice Group on Thursday night, which was filled with enthusiastic and friendly dancers who were eager to improve their technique and skill. We worked on swivels, styling, swing outs and more!
Again there is NO class Monday, but Balboa on Tuesday night is still on. Stay tuned for what's coming up in June!
