What is happening in March at Boulder Swing

March has an awesome lineup of classes here at Boulder Swing.  Get excited!

We start a new Level 1 Lindy Hop series this month from 8-9pm. If you are new to swing dancing, this is where you should start.

We will be starting a new Level 1.5 series from 7-8pm.  If you’ve completed a month of Level 1, then this class is for you.  We’ll fine-tune moves learned in Level 1 as well as learn new combinations to expand your repertoire of moves and build your confidence on the dance floor.

Also from 7-8pm will be the routine class for our performance troupe, The Flatiron Stompers. Heather Ballew and Freeman Bacon will teach a fun Lindy Hop routine, which will be performed at the WWII 1940s Ball in Boulder on June 18th. Joining a performance troupe is a great way to become a better dancer, make friends, and gain experience performing--plus it's an absolute blast!

To join this performance troupe, you must sign up with a partner and make the commitment to attend all practices. You can sign up and pay under the shop tab on our website.  Here's a video of what we did last year.  We're pretty proud of all the hard work that went into it!

Level 2 will be from 8-9pm and this month we're working on 1930’s Charleston and Tandem Charleston.  These moves are fun!  And, they can be used for faster paced music.  The video below showcases commonly led Charleston moves that can seamlessly be integrated with Lindy Hop.

After class from 9pm-11pm we’ll have our regular weekly dance filled with sweet tunes and even sweeter moves.  Staying for the dance is a great way to try out moves you learn from lessons in a friendly environment and it's free if you take a class.  If those reasons aren't enough, we also have live swing bands once a month.  On March 7th Jeremy Mohney and his band are playing, so stick around for some great live music!

See you in March!
