January was a great month a Boulder Swing! We had a great group of beginners this month that did an awesome job! Below is a group photo of our Level 1 students jumping for joy as they graduate to Level 1.5! Below there is also a recap video of all the moves our Level 1 students learned this month.
Here our Level 1 students are demonstrating their newly learned pecking abilities.
And here is our level 1 video recap of the moves covered this month.
Our level 2 students covered a ton of material that originated in Harlem New York at the Savoy Ballroom. Sarah and Freeman had the students swiveling, jig-kicking, promenading, and sailor-kicking away all month long. Next month in level 2 we will be working on our six count moves and movement.
Level 1.5, as always, focused on improving the fundamentals. It is this level that provides a solid base for our level 2 classes. In the fourth week we worked on the Shim Sham. Here is a video overview of the Shim Sham created by our good friend, Mandi Gould, in Toronto. (Quick note: in class we accidentally taught the Tacky Annies starting on the left foot. It should have been starting on the right foot. Management apologizes for the brain fart.)
Finally, we had Heather and Anthony teach a special Balboa series covering pure Bal and lots of work on fun new variations to lollies and toss outs.
Next month we have plenty of awesome things planned. Stay tuned!
Below are some more pictures from this past Monday night.
