Perform at this year's 1940's Ball

Flatiron Stompers take over the 1940's Ball

Come out and learn a new Lindy Hop choreography that we will be performing at this year’s 1940’s World War II Ball in June! Boulder Swing is launching a community Lindy Hop troupe–the Flatiron Stompers–with a ten week routine, and we want you to be apart of it. The routine will cover Lindy Hop, solo Jazz, and Lindy Rueda, and will be taught by Ceth and Dani. The group is open to all of our Level 3 students and more advanced Level 2 students as well as those who have a solid grounding in 8-count and 6-count Lindy Hop and solo Jazz steps. Due to space constraints we are limiting this routine to 12 couples.

Performing in a routine is one of the best ways to quickly improve your dancing. Not only do you learn new moves, but also new ways to move your body and better connect with your partner. And the 1940’s Ball is the perfect venue to showcase Lindy Hop. It is one of the largest events of its kind with thousands of people in attendance, multiple bands, dancing all night, and tons of activities all centered around the swing era.

If you wish to perform the choreography, you must attend all rehearsals. No one will be allowed to start the routine after the second week. Let Ceth or Dani know if you have an emergency or unavoidable conflict that causes you to miss a rehearsal. You will be responsible for catching up and learning the material missed. We also strongly encourage people to practice outside of class.

You do not need a partner to sign up for the routine. We will help you find a partner if you need one.
