Learn to Swing Dance
Want to learn to dance? Attending the 1940’s Ball and want to cut a rug? Boulder Swing Dance is offering a three-hour boot camp that will have you swing cadets jitterbugging like cool cats lickety-split! No partner needed.
Swing dancing swept through dance halls and living rooms through out the country in the 1930s and 1940s. Inspired by the swing music and jazz of the era, the dance is energetic, joyful, and full of life. Over the three hours in the bootcamp you will learn a variety of fun dance steps that can be led on the social dance floor. We offer a supportive, friendly, environment for all ages an abilities. Even if you have never danced before, this is the perfect opportunity to learn!
12:45 PM Roll Call: Registration
1-2 PM Basic training: Learn the basic swing steps.
2-2:15 PM R&R: Practice the moves you’ve learned
2:15 - 3:00 PM Shock & Awe: Flashy moves designed to impress
3:15 - 4:00 PM Graduation: Putting it all together.
The boot camp is $40 for three hours of instruction and practice ($25 for students with a valid ID). Receive a $5 discount on the bootcamp if you are attending the 1940s Ball and present your ticket at the door.
